The early noughties were a truly wonderful period for sneaker innovation at Nike. Models like the Air Spiridon and Air Presto had just come into the fold, radically transforming the world of sneakers. Now, with the resurgence of classic Nike silhouettes, it looks as though the Swoosh is going back to the archives. After the success of the recent Stussy x Nike Air Spiridon Caged 2 drop, the shoe returns in its OG colourways.
Christian Tresser’s futuristic-looking Nike design will be coming back next week. The model sports a fully Zoom Air Cushioning System throughout and features a lightweight mesh for breathability. Thick rope laces, a clever cutout design around the ankle and a mesh upper make this sneaker a winner. A white midsole, complete with visible Air, contrasts the mesh upper nicely. Both the original silver and silver and red colourways are coming back, bringing the classic shoe into 2020.
