When it comes to fun releases, Nike knows how to do it best. Over the past decade, the brand has always worked to keep the sneaker community excited. 420 themed release has certainly helped, with sneakers like the “Skunk Dunk” and recent “Purple Haze” being grails to some. One release sneakerheads have been looking forward to, however, is the “Strawberry Cough.”
Originally thought to be this years 420 themed sneaker, the Strawberry Cough Nike SB Dunk High has been making its way around social media for a few months. The sneaker, which takes on the appearance of a strawberry, has been picking up a lot of hype. Designed by a close friend of Nike Todd Bratrud the pair takes inspiration from a marijuana strain. Bratrud also helped contribute to the “Skunk” Dunks and “White Widow” SB Dunk Mid.
A red leather textured upper is contrasted by a hair suede to give this shoe a genuine strawberry look and feel. The velour collar on the ankle and white on the inside helps to give this Nike Dunk a premium feel. However, it is the coughing strawberry on the heel that helps the shoe stand out. This same motif can be found on the insoles.
Whilst no official information has been released yet, you can expect the “Strawberry Cough” Nike SB Dunks to release in summer. Check out the early images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Dunks.
