Virgil Abloh and Nike have one of the best relationships in sneakers. Since 2017, the collaborative partnership has brought about some of the most hyped shoes of all time. After launching “The Ten”, many questioned whether that would be the end of the story. Now, three years and over 40 shoes later, it’s safe to say that it’s not. We now have a closer look at an upcoming colourway of the Off-White™ x Nike Air Rubber Dunk “University Blue.”
Originally unveiled back in January, the Off-White™ x Nike Rubber Dunk has remained a divisive silhouette. The first-ever Virgil Abloh designed Nike sneaker, the Rubber Dunk blends the Nike Dunk shape with detailing from the Nike P-6000. The result is a modernistic approach to one of Nike’s most classic silhouettes. Though the “Green Strike” colourway was the first to appear, a “University Blue” colourway has since emerged.
Featuring all of the aforementioned elements, the “University Blue” colourway features an almost UNC like colouring. White and silver mesh and leather is accented by light blue throughout the upper, with the Swoosh and Air Unit really taking pride of place. A gum midsole and outsole finish the whole sneaker off. Of course, no Off-White™ x Nike shoe would be complete without familiar details like the orange tab and writing on the medial side and shoelaces.
Whilst no exact release date has yet been confirmed, you can expect the Off-White™ x Nike Rubber Dunk to release in summer. A rumoured retail price has also been set at €180, but this is subject to change. Check out the images below and let us know if you’re feeling this Off-White™ x Nike sneaker.
