When it comes to New Balance collaborations, fewer do it better than Aimé Leon Dore. Founded in New York by Teddy Santis, the independent label has grown dramatically in the past five years. Its collaborations with New Balance have always stood out from the crowd, being held in the same esteem as the likes of Kith and Junya Watanabe. Now, we have a closer look at three colourways of the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 827 Abzorb.
When the initial campaign of the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance collab dropped, only one sneaker was seen. The instantly recognisable elderly models were decked out in co-branded apparel as well as a primarily white shoe. The white mesh and suede base is accented with 3M reflective hits and a mixture of colours. A combination of red, blue, green and yellow is used across the lace loops.
Next up, a striking scarlet and navy iteration is also on the way, replacing the white suede with the eye-catching primary colours. Finally, a yellow and navy version has also been produced which replaces the green New Balance logo for a 3M reflective version. Additionally, the final version uses a completely white midsole and outsole, allowing the colours to thrive. All three sneakers feature white rope laces and a comfortable Abzorb sole.
