Often considered the godfather of Japanese streetwear, Hiroshi Fujiwara is a legend in his own right. Having launched fragment design in the late 1990s, Fujiwara inspired an entirely new generation of Japanese designers. Under fragment design, the 56-year-old has worked with some of the largest brands on the planet, including Moncler and Louis Vuitton. In the sneaker community, fragment collaborations have always been highly coveted, with this latest Air Jordan 34 being no different.
This latest iteration of the Air Jordan 34 sets itself apart from the rest. Unveiled at Nike’s recent Future Sport Forum event, Fujiwara took to Instagram to reveal a fragment design x Air Jordan 34. Using fragment’s favoured combination of blue, white and black, this is one Air Jordan 34 to remember.
A white mesh upper makes the perfect base, with a subtle fragment thunderbolt, etched in grey on the medial side. The contrasting black elements used on the laces, rear panel and toe give a neutral feel; with hits of blue helping to alleviate the shoe. The white midsole, complete with the TPU Eclipse plate and Zoom Air cushioning is merged together with a blue rubber herringbone traction outsole to bring the shoe together.
Though there is no news on whether this will see a wider release (unlikely) this is by far the best AJ34 we’ve seen so far.
