It is difficult to imagine what the world of hip-hop would look like if it were not for the Wu-Tang Clan. Formed in Staten Island in the early 1990s, the Wu-Tang Clan would go on to become one of the most influential rap groups of its generation. Of course, the group also exuded the style of the early 90s in New York, with a penchant for sneakers and Timberlands. After releasing a very special collaboration back in 2015, Wu-Tang member Raekwon is teaming up with Packer and Diadora once more.
Though we have only seen one image so far, the upcoming sneaker is looking extremely well made. From what we can see, premium perforated leather is contrasted with an ostrich tongue, suede and pony hair on the mudguard. The simple colour combination of red, yellow, white and black is enough to give this shoe character without overdoing it. “1995” has been embroidered on the heel, marking 25 years since Raekwon’s Cuban Linxi album dropped. Fans of the rapper will be quick to note that the colour scheme of the shoe directly references the album artwork.
As for now, there is no drop information on this upcoming Raekwon x Packer x Diadora collaboration. Given that the album dropped on August 1st, 1995, you can expect the shoes to release at some point this month. Check out the teaser image below and let us know if you’ll cop these Diadoras.
