A number of silhouettes are celebrating some big birthdays this year, with the adidas Superstar being one of. Turning the big 5-0 this year, the Superstar has remained an important part of sneaker culture since it first debuted in 1970. That popularity is partly down to New York hip-hop group, Run DMC.
After receiving their own special anniversary sneakers for the 25th and 35th anniversaries, it looks as though Run DMC will be getting a limited-edition Superstar pack for the 50th anniversary of the classic shell toe silhouette.
