When images first surfaced of the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 2002R back in May, the sneaker world was intrigued to say the least. As Versace’s Vice President of Sneakers and Men’s Footwear, Bembury is known for his bold designs and slick creations. Although it may have taken a number of months to get our hands on the release, it seems that the long wait is finally over. We now have confirmation that the shoe is dropping next week.
You may be sick of the sight of this shoe, but we’re gonna tell you about it once more. Inspired by the famous Antelope Canyon in Arizona, this New Balance 2002R is certainly bold. Various shades of orange have been used throughout the upper, with contrasting maroon detailing featuring alongside it. The premium nature of this NB is reflected in the materials, with suede, leather and mesh all being present.
Cutting through the orange is a furry lilac “N” motif, with this same lilac colour can be seen on the tongue, which bears “Salehe Bembury” down the middle. Sitting atop a speckled ABZORB midsole, the shoe uses splashes of maroon to add a nice detailing. Rounding the shoe off is a maroon sole, bringing this well-balanced collab to a close.
If you want to get your hands on these Salehe Bembury x New Balance 2002Rs, then good news. The shoe is set to release on October 23rd for around €170. Check out the official lookbook and images below and let us know if you’ll cop.
