The world of streetwear is no stranger to knock offs. From London to Hong Kong and New York to Tokyo, fake streetwear is rife. However, one brand seems to have had it worse than any other: Supreme. Over the past 10 years, there’s been a dramatic increase in fake Supreme, with the brand fighting an uphill battle. One of its biggest enemies has been Supreme Italia, the knock off brand with locations all over the world. Now, Supreme has finally won a long legal battle in China which could mean the end.

WWD reported that on January 21st, Supreme had officially been granted a trademark from the Chinese Trademark Office for Supreme branded products. As many streetwear fans will know, Supreme Italia had a large store located in Shanghai which sold replica Supreme products. It gained notoriety in the world of streetwear for ripping off Supreme in a flagrant manner. Well, it looks like Supreme has finally had the last laugh.

Having lost its case in Italy, Supreme had been working with other jurisdictions to secure licenses on its products and branding. As of today, Supreme now has 251 trademark registrations in 106 jurisdictions. With China being one of the most difficult countries to obtain a trademark in, this marks a big step forward for the brand.
