Since its introduction in 1994, the Reebok Instapump Fury has remained a divisive sneaker. The futuristic design was, and still is, nothing like anything seen before. It has had a hard time making it into the rotation of many sneakerheads, but for some, it has remained an essential pair. Reebok has been working hard on revitalising the silhouette as of late, working with several collaborators. The latest collaborator on the Instapump Fury is Japanese artist Takuya Kamioka.
With the Instapump Fury gaining a cult-like following in Japan, Kamioka has applied some of the same aesthetic that made it rise to popularity in the mid-90s. Black mesh is contrasted by volt green overlays, with the minimalistic signature of Kamioka appearing on the heel. Other details include the use of 3M reflective materials on the tongue and heel, with the whole sneaker sitting atop a solid Black rubber sole.
Whilst this may not be for everyone, it’s going to be a big hit for a select few. If you’re looking to cop this Instapump Fury then you can on May 15th for €175. Launching at select retailers, this will be a tough cop that’s for sure. Check out the images below and good luck if you plan on copping.
