There is no denying the historical importance of Carhartt in the fashion industry. Founded in 1889, the brand’s skill in creating workwear helped make it a staple in various industries. The WIP department, which stands for Work In Progress, has been at the forefront of Carhartt’s rise into streetwear. Collaborations with the likes of Awake NY have helped make Carhartt one of the hottest brands in fashion. Now, Carhartt is teaming up with Converse once more on a reworked Chuck 70.
Carhartt WIP is an extension of Carhartt’s work clothing with a heavy focus on upcycling material to create new items. The collaboration with Converse will see materials from 1,000 Carhartt items turned into Chuck 70s, furthering the brands focus on sustainability in its products. A split Chuck 70 uses both navy and beige fabric, with co-branding on the heel and tongue tab. The classic All-Star logo features Carhartt’s gold colouring too just for good measure.
Releasing in extremely limited quantities, the Carhartt WIP x Converse Renew Chuck 70 will be a tough cop. The retail price is likely to be around €110 given that this is a small release too. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Chucks.
