In the long line of Nike Air Max sneakers, the Air Max 90 is without a doubt one of the best silhouettes. Originally called the Air Max III until 2000, it was just as big a revolution as the Air Max 1. It is true that the original colourways of sneakers also tend to be the greatest. From the “Chicago” Air Jordan 1 to the adidas ZX8000 “Aqua,” sneakerheads are nostalgic creatures. Thankfully, Nike is bringing back one of the OG colourways of the 90 this week; “Laser Blue.”
Taking things all the way back to 1990, Nike is bringing the “Laser Blue” back in its original form. The familiar combination of white mesh, black and white leather and grey suede works together to create a neutral backdrop. “Laser Blue” accents adorn the eyelets, midsole, heel and heel counter, adding a nice splash of colour to this slick sneaker.
Arguably the defining feature on this Air Max 90 is the satin tongue which comes complete with a sewn “Nike Air Max” patch, as well as the original mid-panel stitching found on OGs. In keeping with the original feel of this shoe, the packaging is also a throwback to the 90s. Instead of the usual big bulky boxes we are used to now, the thin vintage style box comes as standard on this release.
If you’re looking to get your hands on these Air Max 90s, the good news is you don’t have to wait long. The Nike Air Max 90 “Laser Blue” is set to release this week with an estimated retail price of €150. Check out the on-foot images below and let us know if you’ll pick these 90s up.
