Since introducing its 4D in 2016, adidas has continued to apply its revolutionary technology on a number of silhouettes. Over the past few years, 4D has graced almost every major adidas model. Some have been more successful than others, but, after all, this is a trial and error. When adidas revealed that an adidas Ultra 4D was in the works, the sneaker community was quick to get excited. Now, it looks as though adidas is dropping an Ultra 4D in a truly OG colourway.
The first adidas Ultraboost to release used a black and purple colour scheme. Taking that very same colourway, the Ultra 4D brings that 2016 Boost sneaker straight into 2020. The familiar black Primeknit upper uses the same pattern, with slightly light flecks of grey throughout. A purple cage comes as standard, bearing “Ultra 4D” instead of “Ultraboost;” a subtle yet perfect change.
However, it is the all-black 4D printed midsole that is arguably the star of the show. Replacing the traditional Boost construction, this sole unit seamlessly blends 4D and Ultraboost together. A black Continental sole ensures that this pair is just as grippy and comfortable as its inspiration. It’s safe to say that you won’t miss these adidas 4D sneakers on the street.
If you like the look of the adidas Ultra 4D in “Black/Purple” then there’s some good news. The sneakers are just beginning to release in Europe meaning that you can get your hands on them soon. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’d wear these 4D sneakers.
