For a decade now, Star Wars and adidas have been cooking up some of the most playful collaborations on the planet. Taking inspiration from some of the best-known characters in the Star Wars franchise and placing them on adidas silhouettes has been a recipe for success. Earlier this week, we reported that a “Boba Fett” adidas Top Ten Hi was in the works. Now, it looks like one of the cinema’s most famous villains is making his way onto an adidas Superstar: Darth Vader.
The adidas Superstar “Darth Vader” is already looking like one of the best adidas Star Wars sneakers that we’ve seen. Comprised in Darth Vader’s iconic black and red colour scheme, the Superstar will ceratinly bring you onto the dark side. Black leather emulates Darth Vader’s uniform, with patent stripes representing the glossy finish found on his helmet. Red detailing can be seen on the heel and tongue tag, with custom graphics adding more to this Star Wars sneaker.
It is the subtle details that really bring this collaboration alive though. The famous Shelltoe has been updated with Darth Vader’s face, just in case you needed reminding about who this sneaker was inspired by. On the soles, “I am Your Father” is spelt out, linking back to the famous line spoken in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. A number of custom lace dubraes also come too, with “Star,” “Wars,” the Death Star and Darth Vader all included. The packaging is most likely going to be similar to the “Boba Fett” pair but let’s just wait and see.
