When WTAPS and Vans first teamed up in the mid-2000s, the sneaker world paid attention. The amalgamation of Japanese design with classic American skate silhouettes was an instant hit for many. Over the past 16 years, Vans x WTAPS collabs have been understated yet powerful. With that in mind, it looks as though WTAPS x Vans looks to be changing the game once more; dropping a simple collaboration that references a previous pair.
If you’re thinking these WTAPS x Vans look slightly familiar then you’d be right. Back in 2016, WTAPS and Vans linked up on a crossbones pack across the Sk8-Hi LX, OG Chukka Boot LX and OG Authentic LX in both olive and black colourways. Thankfully, WTAPS has applied the same formula across an Sk8-Hi and Era this time around, on a black or orange suede upper. The distinct crossbones is applied all over the upper, with “WTVUA” on the heel and plush leather being used on the stripe and ankle liner.
If you like the look of the WTAPS x Vans then there’s good news. The four pairs are all set to release on September 25th via Vans and select retailers. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’ll cop these WTAPS x Vans.
