It is no secret that COMME des GARÇONS and Nike have a strong relationship in fashion and footwear. Since first joining forces back in 1999, CDG x Nike releases have remained some of the hottest in the world. Whether its Air Force 1s with Supreme or bright Air Max 180s, CDG knows how to nail a Nike collab. In recent years, we’ve seen more and more of COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Force 1s, with two brand new versions set to release this week.
Unsurprisingly, the two upcoming CDG x AF1s utilise Rei Kawakubo’s favoured monochromatic colour scheme, but its the construction that’s the stand out element on this shoe. Aggressive and overextended panels create an eye-catching texture throughout, with thick stitching replacing the traditional thin lines found on an AF1.
The Swoosh features excess panelling on the side, making it far different from any other Air Force 1 we’ve seen. Other notable details include the lack of perforations on the tongue as well as the excess fabric on the straps. Subtle “COMME des GARÇONS branding can be found on the strap, with the traditional “Nike Air” on the heel.
If you like the look of these CDG x Nike Air Force 1s, you better get ready to pay the price. The shoes are set to cost around €300, far more than its €110 Mid counterpart. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’ll cop these AF1s.
