Casablanca x New Balance may be one of our favourite sneaker partnerships in recent history. After joining forces in early 2020, the two have gone on to release a number of high profile sneakers. As you have probably seen, the hype around the Casablanca x New Balance 327s isn’t done just yet, but that’s not stopped the two from releasing something new altogether. In fact, we now have our first look at New Balance’s latest silhouette, the XC-72, thanks to Casablanca.
The New Balance XC-72 is the creation of Charlotte Lee, the designer behind the successful New Balance 327. In makes perfect sense that Casablanca would be the ones to debut the sneaker, considering how popular the 327 was thanks to the French-Moroccan label. The Casablanca x New Balance 327, the XC-72 features the same combination of materials and bright colours. A white leather base is contrasted by grey suede overlays, working perfectly with the large “N” motif on the side.
Although it might look pretty crazy, the XC-72 is another good sign for New Balance. The sole unit is almost reminiscent of the New Balance 327 and features textures at the toe rather than the heel. A distinctive orange stripe comes up through the middle of the toe, working perfectly against the cream tongue tag. All we know is we’re interested to see more of this New Balance.
As for now, there’s no official release date for the Casablanca x New Balance XC-72. What we do know is that these vintage-inspired runners are going to be a big hit. Check out the first image below and let us know if you’ll cop these Casablanca New Balances.
