It’s been an exciting start to the New Year for Ronnie Fieg. The Kith founder has already started speculation that a potential collaboration is coming with The Godfather. If that wasn’t enough, the New York native has just revealed that a New Balance collaboration is planned for 2020; revealing the Kith x New Balance 1700 on Instagram.
Fieg, an avid sneakerhead and streetwear giant, is known for picking New Balance models that many would never think to use. He recently brought back the 992, much to the rejoice of NB fans. Now, we have a look at the Kith x New Balance 1700 in all its glory.
Though it may be a new decade, the same attention to detail has been given to this collab. From first glimpse, we can see that a premium suede has been used throughout, with multicoloured panels making for an eye-catching sneaker. The bright sneaker is broken apart with a white midsole and white laces; bringing a sense of balance to this bold shoe.
The 1700, which first debuted in 1999, is one of New Balance’s most comfortable models. This comfort is down to the use of an ENCAP and C-CAP midsole; creating one of the most cushioned rides of any New Balance silhouette. Thanks to Kith, we now have a luxury take on one of New Balance’s forgotten models.
In his Instagram post, Fieg lists a set of numbers; “2020 1700 0131.” Perhaps the sneaker will be releasing on January 31st to tie in with the numerical info we have. Whatever the reason, we can’t wait for these sneakers to release.
