Last year the Nike Dunk had a triumphant return to sneaker culture last year. Thanks to the likes of Virgil Abloh and Travis Scott, the silhouette returned to the limelight. Having first been spotted on Travis Scott in the JackBoys video, rumours began swirling that a Cactus Jack SB Dunk would release. Well, after months of leaks, early images and samples on Instagram, we now have a closer look at the upcoming sneaker.
As we have come to expect from all Travis Scott collabs, this shoe has some unique details. A beige nubuck base is accented with the use of Cactus Jack panels. The use of removable paisley denim and plaid overlays reveals a cement print underneath; a homage to the Air Jordan 3 and 2002 Supreme Nike Dunk Lows. Additional features include the use of contrasting Swooshes, which come in black and pink.
The more unique features of this shoe remain on the upper. Instead of the traditional smooth rope laces, a set of frayed laces are used. Using contrasting white laces against a beige tongue and grey sock liner helps to create a sense of balance. Replacing the traditional “NIKE SB” logo on the tongue is a custom grey “Cactus Jack” logo. A tan midsole and gum outsole rounds the shoe off well, completing what is arguably going to be one of this year’s biggest sneakers.
Mark your calendars as this shoe is set to release on February 29th; the first Travis Scott shoe to release this year.
