This past year, Nike has brought back several cult classic sneakers from its archive, everything from the Air 180 to the Wu-Tang Dunks. As the year draws to a close, the Beaverton giant has teamed up with legendary New York graffiti artist Stash once again, remixing his iconic Air Max 95 and Air Force 1 collabs.
Stash’s Air Max 95 originally dropped as part of the ‘Artist Series’ back in 2006. Since then they’ve gone down as one of the AM95’s greatest colourways and a grail for many sneakerheads. This upcoming 2024 edition preserves Stash’s signature colour palette but adds some unique details.
The top layer of the upper now comes in a durable bright blue ripstop material, with the laces running through thick plastic eyestays. Stash also lives up to its name with a hidden zip pouch on the tongue. These details come together to give the shoe a new utilitarian edge.
These new materials not only give the 2024 edition some added durability but set them apart from the OGs. So if you’re a collector, don’t worry, your ‘06 pairs are still special. The rest of the upper features a dark blue-to-grey gradient on premium nubuck panels. The black midsole is decorated with bright blue speckles, with matching Air units in the heel and forefoot. Unique Stash artwork also appears on the swappable tongue tags, as well as the insoles and outsoles.
Stash’s Air Force 1 Low also gets an update. The upper comes in that same bright blue ripstop, with premium light brown overlays on the toe and eyestays. Dark navy tones cover the leather heel and the thick rubber Air sole. Stash’s iconography also appears on the tongue and insole.
Both of these perfect Winter blue pairs are dropping in before the end of 2024. The AM95s are locked in for the 4th of December, while the AF1 is rumoured for the 13th. The Stash collabs might not have the same recognition as the Wu-Tangs or Undefeated 4s, but the added ripstop details make these a standout amongst these rereleased grails.
