2025 has been a massive year for returning grails, but can you handle one more? This September, the ultra-rare Air Jordan 5 ‘Tokyo’ is coming back, fourteen years after its Japan-exclusive debut.

Inspired by the vibrant city scenes of the Japanese capital, the Tokyo 5 comes in a bright yellow suede upper. Originally made to mark the opening of the Tokyo23 boutique in Shibuya, the lateral side of the rear is embroidered with the number 23 in black Japanese kanji.

The rest of the shoe contains the Jordan 5’s signature features. These include breathable plastic vents on the sides, with Jumpman branding on the heel, lace toggle, and the reflective silver tongue. The white midsole features a visible Air unit, while the nose art borrowed from WWII fighter jets is done in a flashy speckled yellow finish. This 2025 Retro edition also features a hit of yellow under the toe, a detail taken from 2011 sample pairs. The rest of the outsole comes in the 5’s classic icy translucent rubber.

The Air Jordan 5 Retro ‘Tokyo’ will get its first worldwide release on the 27th of September via SNKRS and select retailers. As always, be sure to check the KLEKT app if you miss out on the retail drop.
