When “Reebok eightyone” was unveiled earlier this year, it was a big hit amongst the streetwear community. Launched by VAINL ARCHIVE founder Kohei Okita, the fusion of Japanese style with Reebok’s sports heritage was very well received. Since then, many have been patiently waiting to see what else was to come from the unlikely collaboration. Well, thanks to a brand new lookbook, we have our first glimpse.
Following on from the original collaboration, the familiar earthy palette can be seen across multiple items. Sneakerheads will be quick to notice two new colourways of the classic Instapump Fury. Keeping things simple, Okita has used contrasting colours that help to showcase the Reebok model in all its glory. A combination of materials, as well as a well-balanced colouring, helps give this shoe an added edge.
It’s not just sneakers that have received this natural theme, with a full range of unisex apparel also on launching. In keeping with the familiar aesthetic of the last collab, the clothing references Reebok pieces of old. Okita explained that “The collection reflects the same sensibilities that make VAINL ARCHIVE truly unique, evoking the sense of differentness and disorientation with the combinations of various materials, tones and silhouettes.”
Launching on May 8th, the Reebok eightyone collaboration is going to be one of the best streetwear drops this month. Check out the lookbook images below and let us know what you plan on copping.
