Since 1993, BAPE has been one of the key figures in streetwear. Founded by Nigo at the very beginning of Japanese streetwear, the label is one of the most instantly recognisable in fashion. 27 years later and nothing seems to be changing. In that time, BAPE has collaborated with some of the biggest brands on the planet. From adidas to Tommy Hilfiger and everyone in between, BAPEs book of allies is huge. However, this upcoming Coca-Cola collab may be the best so far.
Taking the iconic red and white colour scheme of the worlds favourite drink, Coca-Cola and BAPE have created two BAPESTAs. Dropping in either red or white, both feature the same detailing including a large Coca-Cola logo across the medial midfoot which replaces the usual star motif. A custom silver bottle cap is used as a hangtag, creating a subtle nod to Coca-Cola’s classic design. Large BAPE branding appears on the heel as well as the tongue tag, with a white midsole bringing the shoes to a close.
Building on the Pepsi collab that nearly 20 years ago, this BAPE collab is not one to miss. If you think these BAPESTAs make a refreshing change to the usual line up, you can cop them this weekend. The Coca-Cola BAPESTAs will launch on July 25th on the BAPE site. Check out the images below and let us know which is your favourite.
