For this week’s instalment of 5Qs and 5As, we’re sitting down with one of the most exciting women in the sneaker community @evitanicola. Based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Eva has made a name for herself thanks to her clean content and passion for sneakers. At just 26, Eva has a collection that any sneakerhead would be jealous of. From new school heat to old school grails, it’s safe to say that Eva has a pretty solid closet to choose from.
Today, we’ll be finding out more about Eva. In the interview below, you’ll find out more about what got her into sneakers, her favourite pairs and what she thinks about sexism in sneaker culture. Hey Evita, it’s great to have you here. Can you please introduce yourself?
Hello team! Thank you for having me. My name is Eva, I’m 26-years-old and live in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. During the week I work as a Communication Advisor and besides my job I love to put my creativity into my Instagram by making sneaker and fashion content!

Is there a certain model or moment that triggered your passion for sneakers?
So, my passion for sneakers actually started with the Nike Air Max 1. It all started when I went to high school. I grew up I a small town, without any sneaker stores and when I was in high school, we went on a school trip to Paris which is where I bought my first pair of Air Max 1s. From that moment, my love for Nike and sneakers started. Later I became a huge fan of the Air Jordan 11 silhouette. Soon after, the Air Jordan 1 High “Bred” made me fall in love with my favourite silhouette of all time: the Air Jordan 1.
Do you think the sneaker community/culture is sexist?
First of all, I want to say that I absolutely love the sneaker community. I’ve met some of the most amazing and kindest people thanks to the sneaker community. But what I don’t understand is the hate against women in sneaker culture, especially on social media. I mean, we all share the same passion so why should we hate on each other? Gender shouldn’t matter at all. Be kind, always!
What other kind of shoes would we find in your cupboard?
Yes, I think it’s no surprise that most of my shoes are sneakers. I do have some heels, but I only wear them on special occasions. Even then I prefer sneakers! I just love the comfort. For me, sneakers complete the outfit.
