Westside Gunn is bringing his unmistakable style to one of Saucony's most distinctive retro runners. Following their previous collaborations, the New York rapper and Griselda founder are back with the Saucony Grid Jazz 9 ‘Awesome Gods', a maximalist new release that pushes the silhouette in an entirely different direction.
This wild, multicoloured colourway is impossible to miss. Inspired by Westside Gunn's Flygod is an Awesome God mixtape and his love of bold sneaker history, the upper combines an eclectic mix of faux pony-hair animal prints, including zebra, cheetah, cow and deer patterns. Rainbow pastel accents add even more colour across the Saucony branding, tongue and heel, while iridescent patches on the toe box, midfoot, heel and tongue give the pair another unexpected twist.
The collaboration also carries plenty of Griselda DNA. A scorpion motif appears on the heel, leather insoles and accompanying hangtag, while amber-toned GRID cushioning underneath adds another custom detail. Two sets of laces are included, including traditional black laces, as well as leather moccasin-style rope laces for a more elevated feel.
The upper’s deliberately mismatched animal-print panels also mean that no two pairs will look the same. This pair not only serves as an even bolder follow-up to Westside Gunn’s ‘Super Flygod’ Triumph 4 from last year, but also as a symbol of Saucony’s status as one of the fastest-growing sneaker brands right now.
The Westside Gunn x Saucony Grid Jazz 9 'Awesome Gods' is set to release on 28 August 2026. The release will be available through Saucony's EQL raffle and select retailers.
