This week we’re talking to Italian streetwear influencer, photographer and Team KLEKT member, Gianluca Ciullini for 5Qs and 5As. After stumbling onto the world of streetwear through a friend, Gianluca quickly fell in love with the industry. His keen eye for detail as well as unique content has allowed him to become a well-respected name in the Italian streetwear community. As a valued member of Team KLEKT, we’re chatting to Gianluca to get to know the man behind the lens.
At 28 years old, Gianluca has gained a dedicated following thanks to the quality of his shots. His Instagram is a combination of perfectly captured streetwear outfits as well as some of the hottest sneakers in the world right now. Hi @gianlucaciullini, great to have you here. Can you please introduce yourself?
Hello guys, thank you so much for having me here. My name is Gianluca Ciullini, I am 28 years old, and I’m an Italian freelance graphic designer, photographer and video maker. A few years ago I started to fall in love with streetwear, thanks to a guy with who I started working with to create video content and graphics. We then created a brand together to serve the world of street fashion in Italy.
I immediately realised how much this market was growing and I decided to dedicate a lot of time to it. As a lover of photography, I immediately started taking some very particular photos. As a result of that, I began to recognise that by creating quality content my posts would grow more and more. I never imagined how much of an impact streetwear would have on my life today, I can’t imagine my life without it.
What’s on your feet right now?
Right now I’m wearing the Union x Air Jordan 4 “Off Noir”. At first, I didn’t really like these shoes but after wearing them for some time, I can’t seem to get them off my feet!
What sneaker are you looking forward to the most in 2021?
I am sure this year will be full of new releases, but I think 2021 is going to be all about the Nike Dunk and Air Jordan 4. Considering that we are only at the beginning of the year and know little about this year’s releases, right now I would say the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Black. These shoes will be almost impossible to buy and I am often unlucky when I try. However, I am lucky that KLEKT is always there to help me after I take the “L!”
How many pair of sneakers do you own?
At the moment, I think I have about 30 pairs of hyped sneakers. If we consider the ones I wear every day then I have about 50 pairs. Every time I tell myself to stop buying shoes, I realise I will never have enough. I think this is a problem haha (or not?).
Can you tell us your last 5 sneaker purchases?
After a long time, I managed to buy shoes that I have always wanted: the Nike Dunk Low SB Strangelove. This is a fantastic pair that I have loved ever since they came out. Then I bought the Nike Dunk Low SB “Court Purple”, the Nike Dunk Low SB J-Pack “Chicago”, the Air Jordan 1 “Dark Mocha” and the Nike Dunk High “Varsity Maize”.
