Since the release of the AJ4 ‘Reimagined Bred’, Jordan fans have been anticipating the latest Reimagined take on a classic colourway. That pair is the upcoming Black Toe Reimagined, taking the OG AJ1 colourway and adding some unique details inspired by a photo shoot from 1985. We’re about a month away from the release, so we thought we’d go through all those special details.
Like the Lost & Founds, the storytelling begins with the box. The Black Toes take things a step further, taking that original image of Michael Jordan, blowing it up, and covering the entire shoe box with it.
Inside we get the new Black Toes themselves. At first glance, they look the same as you remember. The all-leather upper comes in a white base, with black overlays on the toe and eyestays and red overlays on the back. But take a look at the ankle and you’ll see the unique Reimagined details.
The classic Jordan Wings logo you normally see on the AJ1 ankle is swapped out with simple bold text reading “AIR JORDAN”. This detail is taken directly from the sample pair slung over MJ’s shoulder in the photoshoot. On the medial side of the ankle, we get special embossed autographs, inspired by pairs that MJ had worn, signed, and given away after his games.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Black Toe Reimagined’ is set to drop on the 18th of October, 2024. While more “true-to-the-original” retros are on the horizon, like the Black Cement 3s and White Cement 4s, the Reimagined series ain’t stopping yet. The 2025 lineup features the pre-aged AJ1 High ‘UNC’, and the first Reimagined AJ5, the ‘Black Metallic’. As always, stay tuned to KLEKTIVE for more news on upcoming Jordan releases.
