A Ma Maniére have just dropped their latest Jordan collab, the Air Jordan 4 Violet Ore. With the release of this much-anticipated sneaker, we’re taking a look at the boutique’s incredible series of collaborations on Jordan’s classic silhouettes.
Air Jordan WMNS 3 Retro A Ma Maniére (2021)
The AMM x AJ collection began with these WMNS Retro 3s. This pair set the standard for how the boutique applied premium sensibilities to the classic Jordan sneaker design. They also set the standard for this collaboration’s storytelling. Dubbed ‘Raised by Women’, these 3s are a tribute from founder James Whitner based on the first Jordans his mother bought for him and his brothers.
Air Jordan x A Ma Maniére 1 High OG (2021)
When it came to the AJ1, A Ma Maniére took things a step further. The upper is crafted from premium, off-white cracked leather, with burgundy faux snakeskin Swooshes. The insoles also feature an inspirational quote from Michael Jordan: “You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them”. This pair also established A Ma Maniére’s ‘Airness’ theme, inspired by African-American culture.
Air Jordan 2 x A Ma Maniére Sail Burgundy (2022)
Among the massive Jordan 2 push of 2022, this pair was one of the key standouts. This collab stands out with a unique luxury faux snakeskin midsole, and the same off-white cracked leather as the Jordan 1s. The design was envisioned as a tribute to the strength of black communities. The deep red accents throughout the upper represent blood and family.
Air Jordan x A Ma Maniére 4 Violet Ore (2022)
A Ma Maniére’s most recent collab applies their best qualities to one of Jordan Brand’s hottest silhouettes, the AJ4. The upper comes in premium nubuck, in a unique aged violet effect, complete with a quilted inner lining. This collab is inspired by the vision and leadership of black and brown leaders, taking a timeless silhouette and creating something all its own. The shoes also feature another quote from MJ behind the TPU heel tags: “It’s not about the shoes, it’s about where you’re going”.
Air Jordan 12 x A Ma Maniére Black Burgundy Crush (2022)
For their upcoming fifth entry, A Ma Maniére jumps forward in time, covering the futuristic Jordan 12. The full-length Air midsole borrows the burgundy hits from the previous entries. The luxury vibe is also very much intact, with the upper crafted from exquisite black nubuck.
