Vans' Old Skool Souvenir Series Continues this Summer

Vans' Old Skool Souvenir Series Continues this Summer

Following the sell-out success of the original Souvenir releases, Vans is expanding its highly sought-after Old Skool 36 series with four new colourways: ‘Asphalt’, ‘Black’, ‘Oatmeal’ and ‘Navy’. Blending luxury-inspired detailing with classic skate heritage, the collection continues one of the brand's most talked-about projects in recent years.

For those unfamiliar, the Old Skool 36 Souvenir isn't your average Vans release. Originally conceived by former Vans designer Greg Betty, the concept draws inspiration from vintage souvenir items and heavily customised luxury accessories. The result is a sneaker that feels equal parts skate shoe, fashion statement, and collector's item.

What makes the Souvenir series stand out is its attention to detail. Each pair features a spray-painted canvas upper, premium leather overlays, a multicoloured fabric Jazz Stripe, distressed finishes, and removable Vans-themed pins attached to the side panels. It's a mix of textures and materials that feels completely different from anything else currently in the Vans lineup.

Leading the latest drop is the ‘Asphalt’ colourway, arriving 25 June. The pair combines soft grey leather panels with faded pink and grey spray-effect canvas, creating one of the most distinctive executions in the entire collection. The Jazz Stripe and aged detailing give the shoe an intentionally worn-in look that feels lifted straight from a vintage archive.

The ‘Black’ edition takes a darker approach, pairing washed black tones with the collection's signature premium detailing. Meanwhile, 'Oatmeal' delivers a cleaner aesthetic, dressing the silhouette in soft cream hues with subtle distressing throughout. For those wanting something timeless, the ‘Navy’ colourway combines washed blue canvas with deep navy leather for a rich look  that feels perfectly suited to everyday wear.

Beyond the visuals, the collection also showcases Vans' ongoing Premium initiative. Updated construction, elevated materials, and improved comfort features ensure the Old Skool 36 Souvenir isn't just designed to look good, but built for everyday wear too.

The staggered release schedule begins with the "Asphalt" colourway on 25 June, followed by ‘Faded Black’ and ‘Oatmeal’ in July, before the ‘Navy’ lands in August. Given the popularity of previous Souvenir releases, don't expect pairs to sit around for long.
