There is no denying the importance of the sacai x Nike LDWaffle over the past two years. Since its debut at Paris Fashion Week, the silhouette has been a firm favourite for many sneakerheads. A string of new colourways, as well as new materials, have made the sacai x Nike Waffles a big hit. However, there has been very few signs of new colourways. However, that could be set to change later this year, thanks to none other than Hiroshi Fujiwara.
Whilst details are still slim, Fujiwara recently debuted a brand new colourway of the sacai Waffles. Yet, there was a few signs of a fragment spin on the Chitose Abe design. Although there is no information on whether this is a collaboration or an exclusive, the news alone is exciting, to say the least.
Taking the preferred palette of fragment design, Fujiwara has decorated the sneaker in navy mesh and contrasting black suede panelling. White leather Swooshes contrast the navy lace eyelets nicely, with a set of navy satin laces bringing things together. The familiar combination of double details is also on show, with the addition of a small fragment thunderbolt on the mudguard for good measure.
Currently only spotted on Fujiwara’s feet, this could be a one off. For now, we’ll have to wait and see whether or not this sneaker sees the light of day. Check out the images below and let us know if you’d cop these fragment design x sacai x Nike LDWaffles.
