For over a decade, Civilist Berlin has been a staple part of Germany’s skate culture. Launched back in 2009, the independent store is a cross between a skate shop and an art gallery. In recent years, the brand has grown into something far bigger than its founders probably anticipated, however, it has remained deeply rooted in the community that gave it life. After several teasers, we now have our first look at the upcoming Civilist x Nike SB Dunk Low.
At first glance, the sneaker looks just like any other black Nike SB Dunk Low. The subtle black upper, however, is heat reactive, revealing an infrared pattern underneath. Designed to look like a heat map, the heat reactive upper shows varying colours in the temperature spectrum, with contrasting tonal stitching bringing things to a close. Of course, the unique features on this Nike SB don’t just stop there.
The tongue tag has been updated with a block style Swoosh taking pride of place. Slick branding can be seen throughout the shoe, with a small “Civilist” tag sitting underneath the Swoosh. On the heel. the traditional “Nike” logo has been replaced with Civilist’s own version, using the same typeface as the Berlin skate store. A crisp white midsole is paired with a solid black outsole, balancing out this colourful Dunk nicely.
If you like the look of these, then there’s some good news. The Civilist Berlin x Nike SB Dunk Low is set to launch at some time this month. As for now, there’s no official release date but stay tuned to the KLEKT Blog as more info breaks. Check out the on-foot images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Nike SB Dunks.
