Whilst there may be a number of popular silhouettes this year, 2020 has undoubtedly belong to the Nike Dunk. Over the past 10 months, we’ve seen the classic basketball silhouette ushered in with a new lease of life. From the return of iconic colourways to a string of new collaborations, it’s safe to say that the start of the new decade has belonged to the Dunk. Thankfully, Nike doesn’t have any plans to change it any time soon. After an eight-year hiatus, the Nike Dunk High “Varsity Maize” is making a return next month.
Originally released in 2012, the “Varsity Maize” Nike Dunk was quick to win over many older sneakerheads. Bearing a striking similarity to the classic 1999 “Wu-Tang Dunk,” the shoe was a much more affordable alternative to its limited release muse. Nike is now bringing back the “Varsity Maize” in true OG fashion, complete with a balance of black and yellow throughout the Dunk overlays. A clean white midsole bears a yellow sole and is paired by a set of matching yellow laces.
If you like the look of the Nike Dunk High “Varsity Maize,” then good news. The sneaker is set to release in November for around €110. Check out the first leaked images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Nike Dunks.
