When images of a second sacai x Nike LDWaffle debuted at sacai’s FW20 show in 2019, the sneaker world was excited. The new take on the cleverly stacked silhouette was welcomed with open arms. Since the show, however, things have been a little quiet. That’s all about to change. After a long wait, the sneakers are finally set to release next week.
Previous versions of the sacai x Nike LDWaffle have used a mesh upper, but the latest iteration opts for a different approach. A full nylon upper is accented with the usual suede and leather combo on the tongue, mudguard and lace section. Flat laces have been used, complete with gold lace tips. Of course, these Nike shoes wouldn’t be complete without the hybrid detailing.
The fusion of two sneakers in one helped the sacai x Nike LDWaffle to be one of the hottest sneakers in 2019. A combination of two soles, tongues, laces and Swooshes gives the shoe it’s signature aesthetic. Chitose Abe’s creation is still as hyped as ever. Dropping in two colourways, Black/White and White/White, you can expect these sacai sneakers to be an instant sellout.
