It’s been a very big year of birthday’s over at Nike this year. The Air Max 90, Air Jordan 5 and Air Max 95 have all been celebrating some landmark achievements, with the latter turning 25. The legacy of the Air Max 95 is undisputed, serving as a cult classic for a quarter of a century. Over the past seven months, we’ve seen all kinds of colourways and collabs of the AM95. However, we doubt that many have been as bold as the upcoming “Naija” iteration.
Joining the Nike Air Presto in the upcoming “Naija” Collection, this Air Max 95 is one you won’t forget in a hurry. Taking inspiration from the Nigerian football team’s kits, the “Naija” Air Max 95s have got us green with envy. Varying shades of rich greens and clever contrasting patterns adorn the upper, with each panel using a different material. The all-black midsole is hit with green air units to add a subtle detailing, with the black stretching up the suede toe box and tongue. On the insole, “Nigerian Football Federation” can be seen, replacing the usual Nike Swoosh.
If you like the look of these “Naija” Air Max 95s, then there’s some good news. The sneakers will release later this summer as part of the aforementioned “Naija” pack. No retail price has been given just yet, but we’ll keep you updated once we find out more. Check out the official images from Nike below and let us know if you’ll cop these 95s.
