Although the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death CHA” may have been something of a surprise to the sneaker community, it’s definitely been a nice one. Inspired by the original sample of the CLOT K.O.D, the upcoming AM1 is already on the cop list for many sneakerheads. Dropping as part of Nike’s Air Max Day plans, the K.O.D CHA is definitely going to be one of the standout pairs. Now, we have some official imagery to get us excited.
Taking inspiration from the art and practice of drinking tea, the colours of the CHA are based on different varieties of Chinese tea. A huge part of daily life in Chinese culture, tea is considered one of the “seven necessities of Chinese life”. CLOT’s Air Max 1 features light browns to tans across the upper as well as the features found on the recent retro pair. Premium materials like suede, leather and faux ostrich leather have been used, creating a nice contrast against the transparent toe box. The sole, insole and box also replicate the K.O.D, ensuring this updated Air Max 1 is equally as good.
