When the “Freddy Krueger” Nike Air Max 95 debuted last month, many sneakerheads were quick to pay attention. Although Nike is no stranger to using Krueger as an inspiration it has not dared to use him since the 2007 SB Dunk fiasco. Whilst Nike may claim that these AM95s are merely inspired by horror film monsters, we know it’s based on just one. After several weeks of waiting, we now have a confirmed release date for the Nike Air Max 95 “Freddy Krueger.”
It is safe to say that this Air Max 95 is nowhere near as bold as the aforementioned SB Dunk, but it’s still a fitting tribute. A combination of subtle textures and materials work together to give a villainous look, with suede, plaid and mesh all coming together on this 95. The neutral shades blend together nicely, with a muted grey sockliner and toe creating a nice contrast from the deep olive and red. A blood-red mini Swoosh can be seen on the heel, with blood splatters on the heel and tongue adding a nice touch. Finally, a tan midsole and black sole finish this shoe off, bringing this scary sneaker to a close.
The good news is that the “Freddy Krueger” Nike Air Max 95 is dropping on October 31st for €230. With this being a Halloween sneaker, the date couldn’t be more fitting. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’ll cop these AM95s.
