There’s no denying that Skepta x Nike is one of the most important collaborative lines in grime history. Since 2017 the two have been dropping sneakers and apparel that sums up what London really is. Over the past four years, there have been countless collaborations between the two, with the most recent, the SkAir x Nike Air Max Tailwind V being a smash hit. Well, it now looks as though there’s more on the way between Skepta and the Swoosh.
Featuring British rap phenomenon Dave in the campaign, Skepta and Nike officially unveiled to pairs of SkAirs – a second Air Max Tailwind V and a pair of Phantom football boots. The Tailwind V opts for the same design as the previous pair, though this time a vibrant red adorns the upper and detailing. Named the “Bloody Chrome” it’s certainly eye-catching. Inspired by the Tailwind V, the Phantom is a combination of black, red and chrome detailing with subtle “SkAir” branding throughout. Landing just in time for the Euros and previewed by Mason Greenwood, we’re sure these are going to be a big hit on the pitch.
According to sources, the Skepta x Nike Air Max Tailwind V “Bloody Chrome” and SK Phantom football boot will release on June 12th. Given the limited nature of both pairs, we’re sure that these are going to be big for summer. All we can do now is sit and wait. Check out the official images this week and let us know if you’ll cop these Skepta sneakers.
