Over the past 30 years, the Nike ACG Air Mowabb “Birch” has been something of a cult sneaker. Originally released in 1991, the shoe took elements of the Nike Air Huarache and updated it for an outdoors model. Since then, it’s had fledgling stints of popularity, thanks in part to designers like Comme des Garçons and Olivia Kim. Well, after a long hiatus, Nike has confirmed that the ACG Air Mowabb will return in its OG “Birch” colourway.
As previously mentioned, the Nike ACG Air Mowabb is a combination of Air Huarache comfort and ACG durability, the shoe was always destined for great things. Returning in its original form, Nike has ensured those same details have been given respect. A combination of breathable neoprene lines the tongue, ankle and collar before nubuck overlays create a protective layer. The outdoors inspired colour palette uses a combination of orange, blue, beige and ensures you’ll be noticed. Finally, a speckled midsole brings this ACG shoe to a close, marking the return of a great.
