Originally teased back in March, the sneaker world has been waiting to see more of the Nike SB Dunk “What the P-Rod.” As one of its prodigal sons, Paul Rodriguez has played a vital role in the success of Nike SB. For over 15 years, Rodriguez has been a key figure in Nike SBs plans, thrusting it to the very top of popularity in the skate scene. During that time, there have been countless P-Rod signature shoes. Now, Nike is celebrating the long line of Rodriguez’s sneakers with his very own “What The P-Rod” model.
Inspired by the numerous pairs of his signature sneakers, Nike has gone all out for the “What the P-Rod.” In total, Rodriguez has had ten signature shoes and a variety of SB Dunk colourways over the past 16 years. Nike has honoured his legacy with a pretty crazy pair of Dunks that we’re all for. A wide variety of patterns, materials and fabrics dress this shoe, covering everything from faux ostrich leather to rainbows. The most eye-catching details include a Mexican Blanket and Stash on the toe box, as well as elephant print, gradient Swooshes and quilted lining.
If you like the look of the Nike SB Dunk “What the P-Rod” then sit tight. As it stands, these are set to be launched exclusively at skate shops on May 22nd for €110. There’s no news on whether or not these will get a wider release but we’d assume not. Check out the images below and let us know if you’ll cop these SB Dunks.
