Virgil Abloh and Nike have created one of the most successful sneaker partnerships in history. Since the introduction of “The Ten” in 2017, the two have designed and released over 40 sneakers. After Nike unveiled its Tokyo 2020 Olympic products back in January, many were excited to see a new Off-White™ x Nike silhouette was on the way. Now, we have a closer look at the sneaker in two colourways.
The Off-White™ x Nike “Rubber Dunk” seamlessly blends together the upper of a Nike P-6000 and the silhouette of a Nike Dunk. A rubber outer cage wraps around the entire upper of the sneaker and is complete with a cutout Swoosh. The sole embraces a Nike Dunk style but features a visible Air Unit. Of course, no Off-White™ x Nike shoe would be complete without the familiar details.
The signature writing can be spotted across the medial side of the shoe and the laces. An orange tab hangs just below the Swoosh too, with a zip-tie also hanging from the left shoe. For the first time, we also see a co-branded Off-White™ x Nike tongue tab; marking the progression in the relationship.
Rumoured to cost around €180 and release at some point in spring, these are going to cause a wave. Check out the images of the “University Gold” and “Green Strike” below and let us know what you think.
