There is no doubting the hype that surrounded the recent Off-White™ x Air Jordan 5. Virgil Abloh’s most recent Air Jordan collaboration was divisive when it first leaked. However, given the hype around all Off-White™ sneakers, it was an instant sell-out. If that wasn’t enough, Abloh took to Instagram to reveal a brand new version of the Off-White™ x Air Jordan 5 on Saturday.
Whilst Saturday’s drop may have taken inspiration from the Black Metallic 5s that dropped, this version opts for a different approach. Using a cream nylon base, this is a much sleeker colourway of the Off-White™ x Air Jordan 5 than the black version. Cream eyelets, as well as a cream tongue, ensure that the sneaker is a hit. A cream mesh side panel gives the shoe its retro vibe, making it a future classic.
Hits of red and semi-translucent upper and midsole give the shoe its character. The familiar use of a 3M reflective tongue adds some pop to this sneaker, though it hardly needs any introduction. Michael Jordan’s number 23 can be spotted on the heel, with the “Nike Air” logo on the back giving the shoe more character. Details such as the text across the medial side of the text, as well as a black zip tie, pay homage to previous Off-White™ x Nike sneakers.
Although there is no information on whether the shoe will see a wide release, this is exciting news. Head back to the KLEKT Blog to find out more on this story as it breaks.
