Paris Fashion Week has become synonymous with sneaker previews. sacai revealed its Nike LDWaffle collaboration, Virgil Abloh debuted the Off-White™ Air Jordan 1 NRG and Kanye announced his Yeezy 451 to the world. PFW 2020 was no different. Off-White™ Jordans graced the runways earlier this year and brands like Dior revealed their latest range of footwear offerings. However, one sneaker that caught the attention of many came from the Parisian brand, Casablanca.
Working with New Balance, Casablanca debuted a brand new silhouette on the runway: the 327. As you would expect, the sneaker is a seamless blend of haute couture design with everyday functionality. Taking inspiration from 1970s NB runners, Casablanca has opted for two simple but effective colourways; both of which are perfect for the coming summer months.
White perforated leather makes the perfect backdrop for both iterations of the sneaker, with a white and cream midsole and green outsole adding to the vintage vibe. Soft suede has been used on the heel, mudguard and toe. Furthermore, the large leather “N” motif on the shoes lateral side makes for a nice addition. An extended sole runs up the back of the heel, adding another element of depth to this collab.
On the upper, a co-branded tongue can be seen with white laces adorned with gold tips further building on the 70s chic of this sneaker. Underneath the tongue the word “idéaliste” can be seen, the central theme throughout the Casablanca x New Balance campaign.
The Casablanca x New Balance 327 is expected to release on April 4th, though no retail price has yet been confirmed. Take a look at the images below and let us know if you plan on copping.
