Kanye West’s influence in the sneaker community is unparalleled. Since leaving Nike for adidas in 2013 the 44-year-old rapper has claimed a portion of the sneaker industry as his own. One of the Chicago-native’s most popular silhouettes is the adidas Yeezy Boost 700; a chunky dad silhouette that is arguably the best adidas Yeezy sneaker of all time. After months of patiently waiting, we now have official images of the fourth iteration of the Yeezy 700: the MNVN.
Dropping in a sleek all-black colour first, the MNVN is shaping up to be the big start to 2020 that adidas and Yeezus have planned. The adidas Yeezy Boost 700 MNVN uses an entirely different construction to its predeccessors.
Whilst fans may have become accustomed to the familiar leather, suede and mesh upper, the MVNN sneaker opts for a different approach. A nylon shell hides the panelling and laces underneath; with a leather and nylon tongue on display. Although there is minimal branding on this shoe, a large reflective “700” graphic can be seen down the lateral side. This Yeezy 700 has multiple reflective accents so whilst it might have a sleek all-black colour scheme, it will certainly stand out.
It’s not all updates on this shoe, however, with the familiar toe box making a return. Of course, fans of the adidas Yeezy 700 will also recognise the chunky midsole. Finishing things off is the traditional Boost sole, complete with exposed Boost material. Housed in the usual brown adidas box, the sneaker is a much-needed update in the adidas Yeezy Boost 700 line.
