Fewer celebrities in the sneaker community can come close to Travis Scott’s Nike Dunk collection. The Houston native used 2019 as his own personal runway, rocking some of the most exclusive, rare and expensive Dunks ever made. Although La Flame may not be a skater himself, he understands the importance of the Dunk in the sneaker community. Now, it looks as though the SICKOMODE rapper is getting his own SB Dunk for 2020.
Having recently dropped JackBoys with fellow rappers Sheck Wes and Don Toliver, fans of Travis Scott were instantly glued to what was on his feet in the self-titled video. Although the footage that showed the upcoming sneaker was grainy, thanks to the world of Instagram, we now have a much better look at the shoe ahead of its release this year.
Using the popular patchwork design of the Travis Scott x Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Fossil’, Nike and Cactus Jack have created a Nike SB Dunk Low that is pretty crazy. A plush tan suede is used as a base for a number of materials to work against. The most eye-catching part is the paisley bandana print found across the mudguard and heel. Early reports suggest that the bandana material will wear away to reveal a cement print underneath, similar to the print used on Supreme’s classic 2002 Nike SB Dunk Lows.
Mismatching monochromatic Swooshes on the medial and lateral side are accentuated through the use of a plaid material. White rope laces, a smoke grey sock liner and a unique ‘Cactus Jack’ tongue tag all make this Nike SB Dunk one for the collectors. A white midsole and tan outsole help to finish the sneaker off nicely, with the finer details really coming alive once you get up close.
Though no confirmed dates have yet been given by Nike, rumours are suggesting that the Travis Scott x Nike SB Dunk Low will be releasing in March for around £100/€120.
