When Kanye West first unveiled the Yeezy Foam Runner, Twitter was quick to turn it into a meme. The futuristic design likened to a Croc, became something of a laughing stock. However, that hasn’t deterred Kanye’s vision for the silhouette. The clog-like slipper has been slowly making its way back into the forefront, with a number of new colourways already lined up. However, we will be seeing the first even Yeezy Foam Runner later this month.
According to a recent i-D interview with Kanye West, the 43-year-old footwear mogul gave a tentative release this month: “The Foam Runners we’re coming out with in June are our first American manufactured items and we gotta figure out how to do localised manufacturing.”
From the statement above, this is also the first time that Yeezy products will be made in the US. However, it appears that this is merely the beginning. Since Kanye moved to Wyoming, there has always been talk of bringing Yeezy production to the USA, something many locals have welcomed. With that in mind, the Yeezy Foam Runner could mark the start of significant change for Yeezy Brand.
Whilst there is no exact release date just yet, a rumoured retail price of €75 has already been set. Although they may not be for everyone, the design will certainly be a hit amongst a few. Check out the images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Yeezys.
