The sneaker world is always full of surprises. Unlikely collaborations are what makes the sneaker industry so much more exciting. Whether it’s Kanye West joining adidas or even unlikely brand collabs, surprises fill the community with excitement. One unlikely collaboration was announced last week in the form of a Vans x NEIGHBORHOOD x Mr Cartoon collab. Well, thankfully, the wait to cop the collection is almost over.
NEIGHBORHOOD unveiled the collaboration with Vans last week. Since the news broke, the sneaker community has been eagerly awaiting the release. With the big names all working together, the collaboration was always going to be a big one.
Taking two iconic Vans silhouettes, the Authentic 44 DX and Old Skool 36 DX, Mr Cartoon has applied his instantly recognisable graffiti style across both sneakers. Subtle references include the use of “NEIGHBORHOOD” in cursive typography on both models. Links to both “Tokyo” and “Los Angeles” refer to NEIGHBORHOOD and Mr Cartoon’s home city’s. Using the “Uncle Toon Mart” graphics, these sneakers are a perfect blend of two iconic styles.
Launching on June 26th for €85-€95, you can expect these to be a big hit within the sneaker community. Check out the images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Vans.
