Just last week, we reported that Montréal-based skate label DIME was teaming up with New Balance. The unexpected collaboration filled the streetwear community with excitement, continuing New Balance’s explosive start to the new decade. Whilst there was little to no information on what the collaborative model would actually be, that’s thankfully all changed. After a week of waiting, we now have our first glimpse of the upcoming DIME x New Balance sneakers.
Bringing things back to the early 2000s, DIME has brought one of the more forgotten New Balance silhouettes back into the limelight. Taking the New Balance 860 V2, DIME’s approach is perfectly on-trend, capitalising on the sneaker community’s current love of technical models. Two carefully constructed pairs feature mesh and leather overlays, with various branding featuring throughout. An N-ERGY midsole combines comfort with style effortlessly.
Dropping in two juxtaposing colourways, the DIME x New Balance 860 V2 is already causing a lot of hype in the sneaker community. An eye-catching grey and silver pair is contrasted by a neutral black and navy iteration. Thankfully, there isn’t long to wait if you’re looking to cop.
