Public School New York is one of the most under the radar brands in streetwear. Founded by Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne in 2008, PSNY has worked with some of the biggest brands on the planet. It’s collaborations with Jordan Brand on the Air Jordan 12 put it on the map for many sneakerheads, whilst its helm at DKNY showed the two designer’s massive talent. Now, PSNY looks to be working with New Balance on an upcoming 327 collaborations.
For its debut collab together, PSNY has gone for a sensible approach. Ensuring that things are not overboard, the PSNY x New Balance 327 is subtle. A combination of navy suede and mesh throughout the upper is contrasted with green hits on the “N” motif, lace tips and outsole. An off-white midsole is contrasted via white laces and detailing, but it is the message on the medial side that makes the biggest statement. “We need leaders: all roads lead back to the streets” takes pride of place, whilst subtle branding elements on the heel, tongue and insole.
As for now, there’s no release information on the PSNY x New Balance 327. However, strong reports suggest that the shoe will release in the holiday season.
