One of New Balance’s most loved models is the 1500. Since its release back in 1989, the shoe has gone on to be one of New Balances best selling silhouettes. For many, it is the ultimate shoe by NB that reflects the brands focus on luxe materials but keeps to everyday practicality. Now, over 30 years later, the 1500 is arguably one of the most important sneakers of all time. Thankfully, New Balance has continued to this approach on two new colourways of the classic shoe.

Starting things off with New Balances iconic neutral palette, a grey/tan colourway helps keep things to a minimum. A combination of two well-balanced hues helps to create a sleek sneaker. The mesh base, leather tongue and trim use the brand’s favoured grey colouring; this is counteracted with overlays that use a soft tan suede. In terms of wearability, these are definitely up there in terms of practicality, something New Balance knows all too well about.

On the navy/grey pair, this same simplistic colour scheme has been applied. New Balance uses the same grey colouring on the leather and tongue. However, the use of plush navy suede with a slightly lighter mesh helps make this sneaker what it is. Fans of NB will recall the striking similarity between this 1500 and the classic 574 which uses similar colour blocking.

Both sneakers feature the “Made in England” embroidery across the tongue, as well as the stitched “N” logos on the midsection. The inclusion of a soft sock liner, contrasted with the brands ENCAP midsole, gives these 1500s an unparalleled level of comfort.
