When it comes to sneakers, it’s hard to top the Air Jordan 4. First debuted by His Airness in 1988, the sneaker is now a part of sneaker mythology. Of the past 30 years, the sneaker community has seen its fair share of Jordan 4 colourways. However, the latest AJ4 colourway borrows its colour scheme from another classic Nike model: the Air Max 95.
As we reported back in January, the “Neon” Air Jordan 4 uses the familiar Air Max 95 colour scheme. A combination of various grey suedes adorns the upper; reminiscent of the classic Air Max sneaker. The grey and black midsole is the perfect ode to Sergio Lozano’s AM95 midsole and creates a well-balanced shoe overall.
Further reference points to the Air Max model come in the form of a 3M reflective heel tab and neon accents on the eyelets. The tongue tab is another ode to the AM95 colourway; a split colour base features a white and neon Jumpman, whilst a neon border rounds the tag off nicely. It’s good to see Nike mismatching colourways to create something entirely new.
Early reports suggest that the sneaker will release in full family sizing on March 21st, though Nike is yet to confirm the news. Stay tuned to the KLEKT Blog where we’ll update you on this story as more breaks.
